Reasoning and Analytical Ability
This portion of the paper is relatively easy, and you can even score full marks here! These questions take less then one minute to solve. Usually consisting of a paragraph, these are fun to solve, and give you more time to answer the mathematics portion well.
Best book for Mental Ability – Course in Mental Ability and Quantitative Aptitude
Book review – Book Review – Mental Ability
You should limit your sources into two categories –
- Theory/ Formula books
- Revision/ Practice Questions books
Formula Handbook – I’ve extensively used this book during the boards, JEE Main, JEE Advanced and during the last days before the CIC’s entrance exam. The book really, really helped as the direct formula based questions were easily solvable. This book also contains summarized theory for quick revision.
Theory – Use your JEE modules/booklets for theory and examples, for the chapters which you are weak in. It can also be used for solving a lot of questions for practice.
If you didn’t prepare for JEE –
- Use a JEE specific book for the preparation.
- Start first by solving the whole NCERT of class 11th and 12th again.
For the topics in which you are weak,
You can also use a BITSAT specific book, but the level of the questions should be difficult. I’ll recommend the book by Arihant, because the mode of test is online, similar to BITSAT. You need to give some tests on computer to be comfortable while giving the actual examination.
