[Preparation] NCERT sufficient for CIC’s Entrance Examination?

Most certainly not.

As in any other engineering competitive examination, NCERT is neither sufficient nor aimed for it.

Sure, you can start with solving the NCERT completely to get a hold of the concepts, but you need a lot of practice + time management to solve the MCQ in the stipulated time frame.

According to me,

Last time the paper was tougher than JEE Main in terms of difficulty of some questions, and time is limited to 120 minutes for 100 questions, with negative marking.

There are more moderate type of questions than the easy ones. To crack those easily, you need to prepare for at least JEE Main and BITSAT level questions.

You can refer to the Books for Final Preparation of CIC B.Tech. Entrance Examination after going through the NCERT completely.

All the best.

    1. Like any other competitive examination in the country which includes mathematics, ALL the topics are important.

In the Previous Year Papers of CIC B.Tech. Entrance Exam, you’ll find that the questions are generally inclined towards Calculus; so getting an exceptional grip over it should give you an advantage.

But as I said, EVERY topic is important.

      Even Sets.

In 2017, there was a nice easy paragraph question, which included 5 questions, i.e. 20 marks.

An entrance in which a mark is differentiating between the ranks, you know you cannot leave even a single topic untouched.
