The tentative date for the examination is 21.06.2018. That leaves you with around a month for preparation.
Less than a month left now.
Now, your sources should be LIMITED, and focus should be on solving as many questions + papers as you can.
Note – These are the recommended books by the students of B.A.Honours I consulted, and are in CIC.
But, using these does not guarantee success.
As written on the website, there is no specific prescribed syllabus for the entrance examination. The written entrance test of two hours duration will be Multiple Choice Questions on –
- General Awareness
- Current Affairs
- General Knowledge
- Communication Skills (English/Hindi)
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
The paper is mainly General Knowledge based, with focus on logic skills. Going through the previous year papers thoroughly, will help you a lot. The paper is very generic.
Previous Year Papers of CIC B.A.Honours Entrance Exam
General Knowledge
One of my senior Vivek Gaurav pursuing LL.B. from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi recommended this book. He advice – “You should study Geography, History, Constitution & Polity, few questions of psychology/sociology, general science (focus on only biology if you have less time).”
This book is more detailed, with significant current affairs and provides subject wise coverage of relevant factual information divided in 6 sections.
Current Affairs
Go through the top recent news in the last one year, which can be covered from newspapers.
Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
I’ve gone through some previous papers, and the reasoning part is easy, and scoring. You can refer to a common book for reasoning and analytical ability.
How to Crack Test Of Reasoning- REVISED EDITION
Some have recommended to go for SSC/CLAT books for the preparation.
I’m listing a few accomplished ones for the same.
- A.P. Bhardwaj’s book for Static GK, Maths and English.
- Online GK Compendiums for Current Affairs.
- For Maths and General English, one can go for any SSC level book/material
- For History Policy and Geography, one can go for the NCERT till class 12th.
Follow the blog to get the latest updates, I will add another blog post for the final preparation in the last 28 days.
This is very helpful. Thank you
